950 jobs to go at Ulster Bank

Ulster Bank is to seek a total of 950 redundancies with 600 jobs to go in the Republic and 350 in the North.

Ulster Bank confirmed today it is to cut its workforce by 950, with 600 redundancies in the Republic and 350 in the North.

The bank, a subsidiary of the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) which has announced 3,500 lay-offs in its investment wing, said it needed to reduce staff levels to compete in the financial sector.
