Man charged with manslaughter of mother at nursing home

A man has been charged with the manslaughter of his mother at a nursing home in Co Waterford.

The body of 83-year-old Veronica Vollrath was found at Killure Bridge nursing home on Monday.

Gerard Vollrath replied "no comment" when charged with her manslaughter at a special sitting of Waterford District Court last night.

He has been remanded on bail and will appear before the court again next Tuesday.
