Louth Gardaí investigate armed robbery

Gardaí are investigating an armed robbery on a cash-in-transit van in Drogheda, Co Louth.

Four men were involved in the raid at Drogheda Industrial Estate at around 11.15am this morning.

Two men approached the security van worker and threatened him with what appeared to be a shotgun.

A cash box with a small amount of cash was stolen and the men made their getaway in a red car with a 97-D registration number.

The car was found a short time later at Knightswood Estate outside Drogheda.

Gardaí at Laytown are investigating.
