Kerry mountain rescue airlift injured woman to hospital
An American woman who was injured in a mountain fall near Killarney this afternoon has been airlifted to Kerry General Hospital.
The woman was found at around 4pm by members of Kerry Mountain Rescue and was airlifted by the Shannon-based coastguard helicopter.
She was suffering cuts and bruises and a possible fracture.
Thirty members of Kerry Mountain Rescue were on a training exercise in the Gap of Dungloe when the alarm was raised at 2.30pm
A spokesperson for the team said the woman was walking alone and they had some difficulty in locating her.
