Two rescued from Co Louth house fire
Two men have been rescued from house fire in Co Louth in the early hours of this morning.
The men were rescued from the house in Castlebellingham where the fire was reported at around 12.20am, and are not reported to be injured.
The Fire Brigade attended the scene and shortly after requested the services of the army bomb disposal team.
A defence forces spokesman said they were called as a matter of precaution as there were a number of military artefacts at the property.
Its understood the owner of the house may have collected military souvenirs.
However the Defence Forces say no items of a potential safety concern have been found at the property so far.
Three fire units were involved in tackling the fire and one remains at the scene.
