CSO figures show 0.5% rise in unemployment last year

The average rate of unemployment rose to 14.2% last year, compared to 13.7% in 2010, according to the Central Statistics Office.

New figures from the CSO show that when seasonally adjusted there were almost 446,500 people signing on last month.
