Dublin hospital restricts visits due to Winter Vomiting Bug

Beaumont Hospital in Dublin is urging people not to visit the hospital due to an outbreak of the Winter Vomiting Bug.

Forty-two patients and a number of staff in a variety of wards have been affected by the norovirus.

The hospital said only "truly essential" visits should be made between 2pm and 4pm and from 6pm to 8pm, and only one visitor per patient is allowed.

A spokesperson said they were refraining from imposing an all-out ban, but they may have to consider doing so, if restrictions are not respected.

Children are not to be brought as visitors under any circumstances.
