Man to be sentenced for violent disorder

A man has pleaded guilty to violent disorder and assaulting a detective in a garda station last year.

Derek McLoughlin (aged 47) of Ardgillan Lawns in Balbriggan was one of six people arrested in Ballymun for violent disorder.

His co-accused have already been dealt with, receiving up to three years in prison.

McLoughlin pleaded guilty at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court to violent disorder at Ballymun Tower Centre on July 16, 2010 and assaulting Detective Garda Adrian Mulligan at Ballymun Garda Station two weeks later.

He is to be sentenced next March.
