Man to go on trial for impeding murder investigation

A 38-year-old man will go on trial at the Central Criminal Court on Friday charged in connection with the disposal of the body of a murder victim and impeding the murder investigation.

Kastriot Boza of Newgrove Avenue, Sandymount in Dublin has pleaded not guilty to three offences alleged to have taken place at a flat in Cabra Park in Dublin.

He denied assisting in disposing of the body of the deceased on January 4, 2009 with intent to impede the apprehension of a person he knew or believed to be guilty of murder.

He also pleaded not guilty to disposing of two pieces of evidence, a meat knife and a blood-stained carpet, on or about January 6 and 7, 2009 with intent to impede the apprehension of the person he knew or believed to be guilty of murder.

A jury has been sworn in to hear the trial, which will begin on Friday before Mr Justice Paul Carney and is expected to last about three days.
