Cardiff nomination set to be approved

The Government'ss nominee to the European Court of Auditors Kevin Cardiff looks set to have his appointment ratified today despite an early setback.

MEPs from the European People's Party say they will support the appointment of the former Secretary General to the Department of Finance, making almost certain he'll have enough votes to secure the position.
