The Commercial Court has ordered that a solicitor and his wife are to repay €71m to Bank of Ireland.

Judgment was entered against corporate lawyer Brian O'Donnell and his psychiatrist wife Dr Mary Pat this afternoon.

The couple's international property portfolio was once valued at over €1bn.
