EasyJet bar blind woman from plane over guide dog certification
A blind woman has been refused to board a flight to Belfast, because she didn't have documentation to prove her guide dog was trained.
Joanna Jones was trying to get back from Gatwick on EasyJet when she was asked for the proof which she had never heard of.
She had flown out of Belfast with the company without being asked for a certificate.
In a statement, Easyjet said it apologises for any inconvenience, but said its regulations state documentation must be provided.
Joanna's fiancé Barry Toner says no other airline requires it.
Mr Toner said: "It might be standard practice for EasyJet, but I have never heard of this from any other airline.
"I have never been asked for this certificate. In fact, the girl that I spoke to in EasyJet said that this was a new policy in EasyJet, at which point I explained to her that you can have all the policies that you want, but that doesn't necessarily make it law."
