Mulrooney funeral to take place today

The funeral of Cork student Caolan Mulrooney is to take place later today.

The 18-year-old was reported missing after he failed to return home after a night out in Cork City last Thursday.

After an extensive search, his body was discovered on Tuesday morning at the back of a premises off Douglas Street.

A post mortem was carried out on his body. Gardaí are treating the death as a tragic accident.

Caolan's funeral Mass will take place St Patrick's Church in Rochestown at 1pm this afternoon.
