SIMI urges Govt to delay VAT rise

The Society for the Irish Motoring Industry has said that the Government should delay the introduction of the 2% VAT increase announced in today's Budget until April of next year.

The society said it was very disappointed at the decision to implement the VAT increase on January 1.
