200 stage protests outside Leinster House

Gardaí say up to 200 people are staging a demonstration outside Leinster House this evening.

The members of a number of groups - including Sinn Féin, Éirigi, the Socialist Workers Party and Mandate - are protesting against the Budget measures outlined today.

Kildare Street and part of Molesworth Street have been closed as a result, with traffic diversions in place.

Those taking part in the protest accused the Government of reneging on pre-election promises.
