Crowe condemns decision to cut guidance counsellor numbers

Sinn Féin's Education Spokesperson Seán Crowe said today that the Government’s Budget plan to cut school's allocation of guidance counsellors will have far-reaching consequences.

Deputy Crowe described as “appalling” the decision by Minister Ruairí Quinn to reduce the number of counsellors, even suggesting that the move may in breach the 1998 Education Act.
