Clontarf residents succeed in protest against flood defence plans

Residents of Clontarf in Dublin have succeeded in their campaign to block proposed flood defence plans for the area.

Dublin City Councillors last night voted to reject plans to build a flood defence wall along the Clontarf Promenade, which would have reached seven feet in places.
