SVP sees 'alarming' increase in numbers struggling with poverty

The Society of St Vincent de Paul has said it is concerned that the cuts announced by Brendan Howlin in today's Budget will plunge some families deeper into poverty.

The SVP said it is particularly concerned by changes to the fuel allowance and to rent supplement payments.
