Missing Cork student was 'in extremely good form' when last seen

The father of a missing Cork student has today made a heartfelt appeal for help in the search for his son.

Eugene Mulrooney and his family have been searching for their 18-year-old son Caolan since he disappeared in Cork City in the early hours of Friday morning after a night out.

Gardaí are coordinating a city-wide search for the popular engineering student, with hundreds of people combing the city for him.

Caolan's father Eugene told Cork's RedFM that he was in good form before he left the house on Thursday evening.

"He was going out to a class party, and met his friends then afterwards," he said. "He was in very good form.

"He just got great news from his college, from his results and all of that, so he was in extremely good form.

"Our last contact with him would have been before he went out that evening, that was Thursday evening."
