Teenager fights for life after Dublin hit-and-run
A teenage boy is fighting for his life in hospital this evening after he was struck by a car which failed to stop in Dublin.
Gardaí have launched an investigation and are appealing for witnesses. They have begun taking statements from witnesses and checking CCTV footage.
At about 5.45pm yesterday evening, a 14-year-old boy was hit by a car at the junction of St Eithnes Road and Fassaugh Road in Cabra. The car failed to stop.
The teenager, who is from the area, was rushed to Temple Street Children's Hospital where he is now said to be in a critical condition.
Gardaí have launched an investigation and are appealing to the driver of the car which stuck the boy to contact Mountjoy garda station.
Superintendent Sean Ward said the car involved in the incident was silver in colour. One witness said there was a spoiler on the car.
