GOAL director Rooney resigns after differences with O'Shea

One of the directors of the humanitarian agency GOAL has quit his post less than four months after taking up the position.

According to reports this morning, Fran Rooney resigned yesterday, citing corporate management issues. It is understood he stepped down following strog differences of opinion with the charity's chief executive John O'Shea.

The former chief of the FAI's departure follows a number of other high profile resignations in recent months, including senior counsel Ken Fogarty and chairman of the board Jerry Sheehan, while former director John Wilson quit in January.
