Irish people intend to spend 5% less this Christmas with each person set to spend an average of €605 versus €637 for last year, according a new study.

The quarterly Consumer Saving Sentiment report from EBS reveals that 48% of people will only spend what they can afford over the festive season, while 37% will dip into their savings, and only 5% are planning on using credit cards to meet Christmas costs.
