Elderly man dies after fall on Croagh Patrick

A man in his 60s has died after a fall at Croagh Patrick in County Mayo.

His body was found by a group of climbers on the top of the mountain at midday.

Members of Mayo Mountain Rescue and Gardaí are currently taking part in an operation to remove the man's body from the mountain to Castlebar General Hospital.

Gardaí are also trying to establish the man's identity and are asking anyone who may have any information to contact Westport garda station on 098 25555.
