Private speed cameras are earning some €1m per a month from heavy-footed motorists despite prominent signage to alert drivers about where the GoSafe cameras are located, it has emerged.

The number of motorists caught flouting speed limits is expected to rise by 40% this year as more than 100,000 drivers have already been caught since the private cameras were introduced in February.
