Govt 'planning to cut public sector allowances by up to 10%'

The Government plans to cut allowances, premium pay and overtime for all staff in the public sector, it has been reported.

According to this morning's Irish Times, the Cabinet has decided that cuts of 5% in the amount spent overall on allowances and premium pay will be introduced next year.
