Man dies after car enters sea off Dublin coast

Rescuers have recovered a man's body after a car was seen going into the sea at Howth in north Dublin.

Rescuers have recovered a man's body after a car was seen going into the sea at Howth in north Dublin.

The public alerted the Coast Guard AT 10.30am this morning that a car had entered the west pier on Howth harbour.

Units from Howth RNLI inshore lifeboat, Coast Guard helicopter Rescue and Howth Coast Guard rushed to the scene.

They were joined by Gardai and Dublin Fire Brigade paramedics.

The lifeboat searched the water and shortly after the Garda water unit arrived, two divers located the car and brought the man's dead body ashore.
