Gardaí in Cork will hold a case conference this morning following the discovery of a second man's body in a river in Bandon yesterday.
A post mortem was carried out on the body of 42-year-old John Forrester, who was from England, last night, and it is believed he had suffered an assault.
Last night, two people were charged with the murder of 27-year-old Jonathan Duke, whose body was found in the river late on Sunday night.
Catherine O’Connor, aged 35, of 3 Bridge House in Bandon, and Ciprian Grozavu, aged 37, a Romanian national with the same address, were formally charged with the murder of Jonathan Duke, 27, at Bridge House in Bandon on November 13.
Gardaí became concerned for the safety of Mr Forrester after they were unable to trace his whereabouts.
Officers began a search of the river yesterday morning, along with members from the Garda Water Unit, and discovered his body near Bandon Bridge yesterday morning at around 11am.
A post mortem examination was carried out at Cork University Hospital last night and it is understood he died a violent death.
It is expected a murder investigation will be launched.
The discovery of Mr Forresters body came just a day after the body of Jonathan Duke was taken from the same river.
A man and a woman have been charged with Mr Duke's murder.
