Man dies after fire in flats

A man has died in a fire in Dublin in the early hours of this morning.
Four others were rescued from the building by two gardaí on patrol on St Joseph’s Avenue in Drumcondra.
Gardai said the officers saw smoke coming from a property at about 4.30am and broke into the building.
Four men who were asleep in a downstairs flat were awoken and led to safety.
Fire crews were called to tackle the blaze in an upstairs flat, where the body of a man in his 20s was found.
His remains have been removed to the city morgue and the scene has been sealed off for a forensic examination.
