Unite: Workers want us to examine figures to save every job possible

The Unite trade union representing workers at Aviva has said it is willing to come up with alternative cost-cutting measures, if it means preventing some of the 950 redundancies announced by the company yesterday.

Another 300 positions may also be lost through outsourcing.
