Conference reveals Ireland has high obesity rate

Up to 60% of Irish adults are overweight or obese, according to a conference on nutrition and health held in Dublin yesterday.

Ireland has one of the highest rates of obesity in Europe.

The conference was told that physical inactivity is costing around €1.6bn a year.
