Garda investigation underway after man found dead at residence in Mayo

Gardaí are investigating after the body of a man was found at a residence in Castlebar, Co Mayo.

Shortly after 9am on Thursday, gardaí and emergency services were alerted after a man, aged in his 30s, was found unresponsive at a residential property in Castlebar.

He was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.

A Garda spokesperson said: "The Coroner and Office of the State Pathologist have been notified and the scene remains preserved.

"A post-mortem examination will be arranged and the outcome will determine the course of the Garda investigation."

Investigations are ongoing, and further updates will be provided.
