Five rescued after cruiser hits rocks on Lough Derg
Five people have been rescued from a stranded lake cruiser after it hit rocks on Lough Derg.
The 37-foot cruiser got into trouble this morning at Bonaveen Point, near Portumna, at the northern end of Lough Derg.
The Lough Derg R.N.L.I. lifeboat went to the assistance of the vessel which was taking on large amounts of water.
The passengers were unharmed. They were taken off the cruiser and transferred by lifeboat to Castle Harbour.
