Two explosive devices have been discovered during a police search in the North.

A number of homes were evacuated after the “viable devices” were found at a property in Donegall Avenue, south Belfast, police said.

Army bomb experts made the devices safe.

A spokeswoman for the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) said the operation was part of a continuing investigation into serious crime.
