Dana to make statement on presidential bid
Presidential candidate Dana Rosemary Scallon is expected to make a statement today about her future in the race for the Aras.
Mrs Scallon has not been seen on the campaign trail since Wednesday night when she made her dramatic intervention at the end of the 'Prime Time' debate.
On Wednesday night, believing that an Irish newspaper was about to break a story surrounding her, Dana read a statement on the debate.
She said allegations of a most "untrue, malicious and vile nature" had been made against a member of her family in an attempt to damage her.
She refused to go into detail and has not appeared on the campaign trail since.
But today, an American-based website has published claims relating to a family member of Dana Rosemary Scallon.
It is understood Irish media organisations in possession of similar claims have been advised not to publish them for legal reasons.
