Gardaí are investigating after an explosion on the northside of Dublin city in the early hours of this morning.

Gardaí are investigating after an explosion on the northside of Dublin city in the early hours of this morning.

A device went off under a four-wheel drive on Holy Cross Avenue near Clonliffe Road just before 1.30am.

Nobody was injured in the incident.

The Army bomb disposal team was called to inspect the scene which has been cordoned off for a technical examination.
