Gardaí arrest man after €40k drug seizure

A man has been arrested after Customs Officers seized €40,000 worth of herbal cannabis in Dublin Port.

Up to 4kgs of the drug was found when a van coming off the Holyhead ferry was stopped and searched.

A drug detector dog found the drugs, which were concealed in the engine compartment of the van and in the spare wheel.

The man, who is Irish and in his forties, is being held at Store Street Garda Station.
