Survey: Treatment of miscarriages can be 'insensitive'

Many women who are treated in hospital for a miscarriage are done so alongside pregnant women, which many find "distressing".

It is one of the findings of a survey by the website mumsnet.com which said that many women do not feel they are getting the treatment they need.

They are now calling for an improvement in support and have drawn up a five-point 'Miscarriage Code of Care'.

Katie O'Donovan from the website has said the care can be "insensitive".
