Teresa Treacy supporters to meet in Tullamore

Neighbours and friends of Teresa Treacy are meeting in Tullamore this evening to discuss the ongoing dispute between the ESB and local landowners.

On Thursday Ms Treacy was released after spending 24 days in Mountjoy prison, despite refusing to purge her contempt of court for trying to stop a power line being laid across her land.

The 65-year-old wanted to protect her trees from being cut down by ESB and Eirgrid.

Tonight locals will hold an information evening about the dispute at Ballinagar Community Centre in Clonmore.
