TV3 to air presidential debate tonight

The seven presidential candidates are to take part in their second major live television debate tonight.

The 90-minute programme on TV3, which begins at 9pm, will be chaired by Vincent Browne.

Meanwhile, the Áras contenders have been out canvassing support around the country again today.

Labour's Michael D Higgins said he has no difficulty in releasing details of his earnings, while Independent David Norris is rubbishing reports raising questions about his eyesight and his drinking.

Elsewhere, Mary Davis is again accusing Fine Gael of engaging in a "dirty tricks campaign".

The Independent candidate said such practices "only serve to damage the Office of President".
