Two arrested in connection with fuel laundering plant
Two men have been arrested in connection with a fuel laundering plant in Co Monaghan.
Revenue officers and Gardaí raided the operation at a commercial premises in Glaslough last night.
The plant had the potential to produce around €8m worth of laundered oil a year - a potential loss to the Exchequer of around €4m.
A number of items were seized during the raid including a 40-foot trailer and lorry and 40,000 litres of fuel.
The two men, who are in their 30s and from the North, are being questioned at Monaghan garda station.
