Crime Victims Helpline sees calls for help rise by a fifth
There has been a 20% increase in contacts to the Crime Victims Helpline, according to its annual report being launched today.
The helpline is detailing almost 3,000 e-mails, calls and texts it has received.
Nearly a quarter of those contacting the helpline experienced assault followed by burglary, harassment and intimidation.
The majority of callers, about 60%, required some level of emotional support.
