Motorists can expect some traffic disruption around Dublin this afternoon as experts deal with an unstable chemical at a city centre school.

It is expected that St. Stephen's Green will have to be closed off shortly as the chemical is removed.

Gardaí have said there is no danger to the public, but the substance must be dealt with carefully and correctly.

Lower Leeson St is closed approaching the Stephen's Green junction and the area cannot be accessed from Upper Leeson St.

Inbound traffic is being diverted left onto Hatch St Lower.
