It has emerged today that County Managers are eligible for a €74,000 once-off lump sum payment when they retire.

It has emerged today that County Managers are eligible for a €74,000 once-off lump sum payment when they retire.

The payment, revealed in today's Irish Independent, follows public discussion of similar payments to a former top civil servant Dermot Mc Carthy who retired on a package worth €713,000.
