The Government has been accused of a U-turn on its plans to burn senior bond holders at Anglo Irish Bank and Irish Nationwide.

The Minister for Finance Michael Noonan is today meeting the head of the European Central Bank Jean Claude Trichet to discuss reducing the amounts Ireland has to invest in the bankrupt institutions.
