Tánaiste refuses to speculate on Greek default
The Tánaiste Eamon Gilmore is refusing to say what plans are in place for the Irish economy in the event of a Greek debt default.
Mr Gilmore said that while there are several plans the Government does not want to speculate on what might happen if the crisis in Europe deepens.
He made the remarks as the Finance Minister Michael Noonan joined EU colleagues in Poland for talks with US Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner on the Greek debt crisis.
Austrian officials have said a Greek default may prove the cheapest option for the EU.
Opposition parties here have called on the Government to outline the "Plan B" for Ireland in the event of a default.
