Joy for mother who receives anonymous donation for son's operation

A Tipperary mother has been describing her family's delight today following an anonymous donation to fix her son's back.

Trina Slevin's son Jason lives with cerebral palsy and scoliosis. Over the past number of years, Jason's spine had changed to form an S-like shape.

The 19-year -old is graduating from the special needs unit at Killina Presentation School this September.

He had been on a waiting list for an operation to fix the curvature of his spine.

However, following an appearance on TV, a generous stranger put up the money to give Jason a new lease of life.
