AA Roadwatch is warning drivers not to get behind the wheel if they are tired and to take regular breaks of at least 20 minutes on long journeys.

Ronan Gilligan from AA Roadwatch said that there are a few busy spots to watch out for today.

"On Friday when people were heading away the worst routes were the N11 heading between Dublin and Wexford, particularly around Jack White's cross heading into Brittas Bay, so that would be one to watch out for on the way back up the road if you're heading back to Dublin," he said.

"Also on the N25 Wexford-Waterford road, usually you get a bit of a black spot going into New Ross there.

"You might find a few problems coming in from the west between Sligo and Dublin headling through Carrick-on-Shannon on the N4."
