Gardaí: New speed cameras reduce speeding

Gardaí have said the newly introduced speed camera vans have reduced the number of drivers speeding on the roads.

The news comes as Gardaí continue their appeal to motorists to take extra care and allow plenty of time for their journey this Bank Holiday weekend.

Chief Superintendent Gabriel McIntyre said speed is still the number one killer on our roads, but the new speed vans are helping to reduce roads deaths.
