Minister outlines four beneficiaries of €6m tourism funding

Almost €6m worth of funding for four tourism projects is being rolled out, it was confirmed today.

Almost €6m worth of funding for four tourism projects is being rolled out, it was confirmed today.

They are the Book of Kells, Garnish Island, Killarney Downhill Mountain Bike Trail and Lough Rynn.

Tourism Minister Leo Varadkar said that the funding will help sustain and create jobs in the tourism sector.

"We do know that tourism is of huge benefit to the economy," he said.

"It's starting to recover, it's up almost 10% this year."

He added: "Certainly if we can recover tourism numbers back to what they were, there's a major increase in jobs there."
