Bomb found on Belfast street

A viable explosive has been recovered in east Belfast.

The incendiary device was taken away for further examination following a security alert at Harkness Parade.

Nearby residents were evacuated but returned later to their homes. The bomb was discovered in the street.

A PSNI spokesman said: “Army technical officers have now finished and a viable incendary device has been taken away for further examination.”
